Kiriyama
Bonsoir, J'ai enfin découvert un livre sur les armées d'Asie centrale. Il a été écrit par Erica Manat. The military played a pivotal role in the political development, state functions, foreign policy and the daily lives of the people in the Central Asian states from the early twentieth century until the present. This book is the first major, in-depth study of the military institutions in Central Asian states. It examines their hidden story, the different stages of their development from the early twentieth century until the present, and the influence they had on the state and society. It effectively combines history, sociology of the military and political science and provides deeper insights into how recently formed states function. By concentrating extensively on the military, this book is an important and a timely contribution to a wide range of disciplines including Central Asian studies, and post-colonial state and nation-building studies. L'auteure. Erica Marat is a Research Fellow at the Central Asia-Caucasus Institute and Silk Road Studies Program. She is an expert on security issues in Central Asia, with a specific interest in military, national and regional defense, as well as state-crime relations in Eurasia. Dr Marat has published widely, both in peer review journals and policy-oriented forums. She holds a BA in Sociology from the American University - Central Asia, an MA in Political Sociology from the Central European University and a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Bremen. She is a regular contributor to the Central Asia – Caucasus Analyst and to the Eurasia Daily Monitor. Her most recent book is The Military and the State in Central Asia: From Red Army to Independencem, published by Routledge in 2009.
