Invité Rob Posté(e) le 17 mai 2007 Share Posté(e) le 17 mai 2007 LONDON [MENL] -- Saudi Arabia has ordered a network centric warfare system and armored combat vehicles in contracts that approach $500 million. BAE Systems has received two contracts signed in 2006 that stipulated a range of equipment to the Saudi military. Executives identified the non-government contracts as the sale of the Tactica armored vehicle and a command, control, communications, computer and intelligence system to Riyad. "We finished [2006] by securing approval for two other contracts that fall outside the government-to-government arrangements for a C4ISR program and Tactica armored vehicles," BAE Systems chief executive officer Mike Turner said. Turner said the two contracts were drafted in 2006 and were not part of the Al Yamamah program, an oil-for-weapons deal that has brought an estimated $86 billion in aircraft, ships, training and maintenance to Saudi Arabia since 1987. He would not elaborate.
