Il me semble que les Shang (type 093) ne sont pas proposés à l'export. Pour info un Scorpène coûte dans les 450 Millions d'Euros.

Quand aux 50 JF-17 annoncés (en fait 60), ce ne sont pas des Block 1 mais de versions bien plus modernes. D'ailleurs à la fois Yousaf Raza Gilani et Wen Jiabao ont affirmé que c'est la Chine qui régale au sujet de ces chasseurs. C'est peanuts pour les Chinois et ca leur permet de mettre le pied dans la porte après l'histoire "Ben Laden".

La stratégie des Chinois est simple. Suivant leur théorie des cercles excentriques, ils veulent faire tomber le Pakistan dans leur escarcelle et virer les Américains (leur influence) de tous les pays limitrophes de la Chine. Les Américains continuent à payer d'énormes sommes au Pakistan mais ils ont déjà été mis à mal dans cette bataille d'influence. Ce qui est cocasse c'est que le programme FC-20 est en partie financé par le pognon Américain (le tonneau des Danaïdes...). Accessoirement cela leur permet aussi d'étrangler l'Inde.

Le Pakistan a aussi une option ferme pour 36 FC-20 (J-10) équipés de liaison 16 comme les (F-16 Block 52 de la PAF) ainsi que d'un AESA. Le FC-20 est donné pour être aussi performant que le F-16 Block 60 utilisé par les Emirats Arabes Unis.

Les Pakistanais et les Chinois auront probablement une flotte de sous-marins basés à Gwadar.

Ils ont réussi à siphoner un max aux US, tout en faisant en sorte de garder une main-mise sur l'afgha par (et c'est un comble) le biais des taliban, et maintenant ils se font rincés par les chinois, au nez et à la barbe des US qui continuent à leur verser des subsides.

J'en passe sur l'affaire ben laden.

Disons que les Pakistanais ont joué sur trois tableaux à la fois, que pour l'heure ça leur a bien réussi. Mais ensuite ?

Les talibans veulent se faire le gouvernement pakistanais, les Chinois ne sont là que pour vendre leur matériel et embêter les Indiens, les Indiens veulent se faire le Pakistan en général, et les Etats-Unis feront tout pour ne pas intervenir. Sans compter que financièrement, l'Etat pakistanais est à poil, et que diplomatiquement parlant, il est quasiment complètement isolé.

A terme, le Pakistan est très mal.

Accessoirement, si la Chine commence à jouer avec l'eau, elle risque d'avoir de gros problèmes. Avec le Bangladesh, ou avec le Vietnam. Ca n'est pas dans son intérêt non plus.

Moi aussi, brièvement cherché et pas trouvé, mais perry n'est pas le seul à avoir parlé de ce deal gratos.

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Navy has become the first maritime force in the region that is equipped with stealth technology after its first Fast Attack Craft (FAC) equipped with missiles was launched on Tuesday. India also launched its FAC on the same day in Kochi.

“The version Pakistan has bought has far better qualities and added features including cost efficiency and multi-role in any combat activity,” said an insider. “The inclusion of the FAC-M in Pakistan navy will enhance its capacity to fight against terrorism and extremism.”

According to the Pakistan Navy, the FAC-M, designated as PNS Azmat was launched at Tianjin (Xingang Chinese Shipyard) in an impressive ceremony where Pakistan’s Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Noman Bashir was the chief guest. The vessel will be the first of the Azmat class FAC, scheduled to be delivered to the Pakistan Navy within six months.

The missile craft construction project represents a quantum leap, not only in defence production in the maritime sector of Pakistan, but also addresses a long-standing operational requirement of the Navy. The fast attack craft is equipped with advanced weaponry and sensors, including the C802A surface-to-surface missile, and has stealth features. The FAC in question has a crew of 12 to 14 sailors, less than half that of similar craft. At a unit cost of an estimated $50 million each, a Navy with limited resources could afford both the financial and manpower commitment.

La marine pakistanaise souhaite développer des sous-marins à propulsion nucléaire.

La presse pakistanaise rapporte que la marine pakistanaise envisage de construire des sous-marins à propulsion nucléaire et que c’est une de ses priorités.

Aucune source n’est citée dans les articles, qui précisent que le 1er sous-marin serait opérationnel d’ici 5 à 8 ans.

Contacté par Defense News, un porte-parole de la marine pakistanaise a indiqué qu’il ne pouvait faire aucun commentaire sur la véracité des articles.

Mansoor Ahmed, de l’université Quaid-e-Azamat d’Islamabad et spécialiste des armes non-conventionnelles et des missiles, pense que les articles sont la conséquence d’une fuite intentionnelle de la marine, et qu’un message pourrait être ainsi envoyé à l’Inde.

« Cette information semble être un message envoyé aux Indiens, qui prennent livraison d’un sous-marin nucléaire loué par les Russes et d’un SNLE classe Arihant , » explique-t-il.

« Le Pakistan fait savoir aux Indiens qu’il est conscient des développement et qu’il prend les mesures nécessaires en réaction. »

Ahmed indique qu’il a des raisons de croire que le Pakistan travaille depuis quelque temps à un système de propulsion nucléaire pour sous-marins, et qu’il disposerait déjà d’une version pouvant être lancée depuis un sous-marin du missile de croisière Babur.

Le Babur est très similaire au Tomahawk. Il pourrait d’ailleurs reprendre certains des technologies du Tomahawk, dont certains exemplaires ont été récupérés par le Pakistan lors des frappes américaines en 1998 sur des camps d’entraînement d’al-Qaida en 1998. Il pourrait être équipé de têtes nucléaires.

Ahmed croit que le Pakistan accélère maintenant la construction de ses propres SNA afin de dissuader l’Inde et de maintenir l’équilibre stratégique dans la région.

Sur le long temps néanmoins, pour assurer la crédibilité de sa dissuasion, Ahmed pense que le Pakistan devrait construire des sous-marins nucléaires lanceurs d’engins.

NAVDEX 2013: STM signs contract for Pakistan fleet tanker project

Turkish technology and systems engineering house Savunma Teknolojileri Mühendislik ve Ticaret (STM) has signed a contract with Pakistan's Ministry of Defence Production to provide technical and material support for the construction of a new double-hull fleet tanker for the Pakistan Navy.

According to STM, the contract covers the detailed design of the new ship - to be built in-country by Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works (KSEW) - together with the supply of a kit of materiel, integrated logistic support, training test, and trials. STM will also provide consultancy and management support for the four-year programme.

The new tanker, displacing 15,600 tonnes and approximately 155 m in length, will be equipped with replenishment at sea rigs for underway replenishment. It will also have a helicopter flight deck, allowing for vertical replenishment operations.

A conventional all-diesel machinery plant, driving controllable pitch propellers, has been specified. The ship will be able to achieve a speed of 20 kt.

KSEW has already built a number of warships for the Pakistan Navy, but this is the first time the yard will build a large auxiliary ship at its facilities. The local construction of the new tanker is in line with the Pakistan Navy's goal of achieving greater self-reliance and the increased indigenisation of defence equipment production.

6 sous-marins chinois pour le Pakistan ?

 

Pakistan could sign a deal to buy up to six submarines from China before the end of 2014, senior Pakistani government officials have told IHS Jane's .

A Pakistani government minister revealed in March 2011 that China had offered to sell up to six submarines to Pakistan although he did not specify details of the boats on offer. Western officials in Islamabad suggest that China's subsequent international marketing of the 'S20' or Yuan-class diesel-electric submarine (SSK) suggests it could be a potential option for Pakistan.

Pak-China sign agreement for MSA patrol vessels

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and China signed a landmark agreement on Wednesday for construction of six patrol vessels for Maritime Security Agency (PMSA).

The agreement was signed today during a ceremony at the Ministry of Defence Production (MoDP) in Rawalpindi.

Documents were signed by M/s China Ship Trading Company (M/s CSTC) and the Pakistani government on behalf MoDP.

According to the agreement, four ships will be constructed in China with the remaining two will be built at Karachi's Shipyard and Engineering Works under Transfer of Technology.

The spokesman for MoDP said that acquisition of new ships is a step towards PMSA's capacity building by the government which will boost the agency's operational preparedness for protection of resources in Pakistan's Exclusive Economic Zone and fishery protection.

The spokesman further said that new ships will be used for maritime law enforcement operations against drug trafficking and illegal immigration.

Last year, the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (Ecnec) approved eight development projects worth Rs157 billion, including two signature projects of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-N – first phase of Pakistan-China Economic Corridor (PCEC)

The committee had also approved Rs13.87bn for procurement of six maritime patrol vessels for Pakistan Maritime Security Agency.

Defence cooperation: Pakistan to buy eight submarines from China

Pakistan and China on Thursday agreed to a multi-billion dollar deal that would see Beijing provide eight submarines to the Pakistan Navy, in an agreement that analysts are calling the largest-ever defence deal China has agreed to with any country.

Despite the magnitude of the deal, government officials did not provide any details, even declining to confirm the size of the transaction. However, the composition of the Chinese delegation with which the agreement was reached suggests that the arrangements have been struck for purchase of eight submarines.

“Pakistan and China have reached an understanding on matters of defence cooperation relating to Pakistan Navy,” announced the finance ministry after a meeting with Chinese authorities. “Financial arrangements to this effect were also concluded.”

According to a briefing that the defence ministry gave to parliament in April this year, Pakistan was negotiating a deal for acquisition of submarines from China. In the same month, the UK-based Financial Times, citing a retired senior official, claimed in a report that the contract could be worth $4 billion to $5 billion, the largest defence deal ever by China.

Sources in the finance ministry said that Pakistan would make down payments to China in four installments and the delivery of the submarines will be made in the coming years.

The financial arrangements were agreed during a meeting between Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and Xu Ziqin, President of the Chinese state-owned China Shipbuilding & Offshore International Company Limited (CSOC).

Finance Secretary Waqar Masood and Economic Affairs Secretary Saleem Sethi assisted Dar. Chinese Ambassador Sun Weidong also participated in the negotiations.

CSOC is the trade arm of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC) and its main business is the manufacture, repair, lease, and sales of military ships and submarines.

Sources in the finance ministry said that the agreement is still subject to final review form higher authorities in Beijing, following which a formal agreement will be signed. The press release issued by the ministry after the event was vague. According to the release, Dar said that the visit by the CSOC delegation to Pakistan would enhance and further strengthen their bilateral economic and defence cooperation.

The release quoted Xu thanking Dar for his contribution in concluding the arrangements, saying it was reflective of the deep rooted China-Pakistan friendship.

Last month, both the countries had also signed an agreement for construction of six patrol vessels for the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA). The agreement had been signed by China Ship Trading Company (CSTC) and the Pakistani defence production ministry. According to the agreement, four ships will be constructed in China while the remaining two will be built at Karachi’s Shipyard under a transfer of technology agreement.

Pakistan Navy Inducts Zarb Missile

Pakistan Navy has conducted successful test launch of shore based anti-ship missile today. The trial was conducted in Arabian Sea and weapon launched from coastal site successfully engaged the surface target. The test further consolidates Pakistan’s capability for defence of the country.

Speaking on the occasion, Vice Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi, Deputy Chief of Naval Staff (Operations) lauded the efforts of those involved. While congratulating the crew of the missile’s battery, he said that with this successful test launch, significant capability has been added to the Pakistan Navy’s arsenal which would further bolster the seaward defence of the country and contribute towards peace and stability in the region.

Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah, in his felicitation message praised the hard work for successful launch and smooth induction of Zarb missile. He said the operationalisation of new missile system was part of Pakistan Navy’s continuous efforts to augment its capabilities. He termed the event as hallmark of Navy’s combat preparedness and an important step towards further strengthening the country’s seaward defence.
