  2. Algeria is stepping up purchases of Su-30 o effectively countering new threats to Algeria is required to increase the fleet of Su-30 aircraft to 72 Russia and Algeria signed a new contract to supply 14 Su-30MKA worth about $ 800 million The production of these aircraft will begin in the facilities of the Irkutsk aircraft factory already this year, and they will be transferred to the customer in the 2016-2017 th. For the first time Algeria has decided to buy the Su-30MKA in 2006. Then it was delivered 28 aircraft worth $ 1.5 billion. And after five years, Algeria has translated into a firm contract option for 16 fighter aircraft for a total of approximately $ 900 million. Thus, the park is now Sioux 30MKA Algerian Air Force has 44 aircraft, but after execution of this contract will increase to 58 cars. However, many experts are sure to fend off new threats, the Algerian Air Force must have a minimum of three regiments (of 72 aircraft) advanced multi-role fighters Su-30. This fact is crucial, especially when you consider the actual disintegration of neighboring Libya as a result of numerous militant attacks and intensifying terrorist group banned in Russia LIH, one way or another to patronize at least two Middle Eastern monarchy. So, after a few years, our defense industry could expect yet another deal with Algeria on 14 fighters. http://expert.ru/expert/2015/39/alzhir-naraschivaet-zakupki-su-30/

Thales Expands Watchkeeper, Offering WK-X for Export Thales is introducing an export variant of its Watchkeeper Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), originally developed for the UK. The first export contract being pursued by the company is Poland, seeking a UAV solution for its military forces. Watchkeeper is also one of two finalist tactical UAV systems being considered by the French Army as a successor for the Sperwer, originally produced by Sagem. “Watchkeeper X is based on a ground-breaking, world-leading unmanned aircraft system that was designed specifically for the requirements of the British Army,” said Pierre Eric Pommellet, Thales Executive Vice-President, Defence Mission Systems. “We have now taken the knowledge and expertise that we have gained over the history of the program and looked at how we can make it more flexible, effective and readily available for our customers, to help them address the different operational contexts they may face.” http://defense-update.com/20150917_wk-x.html?utm_source=Subscribers&utm_campaign=2fe87030bb-Daily_News10_5_2014&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_3e00b99948-2fe87030bb-165216549#.Vfv4SH0epwE
