SAN DIEGO (Jan. 6, 2015) The Military Sealift Command hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19) departs Naval Station San Diego to conduct Mercy Exercise 02-15. The quarterly exercise trains and integrates medical and other core Navy personnel to operate the ship as a medical treatment facility. PHILIPPINE SEA (Jan. 31, 2015) The Military Sealift Command fleet replenishment oiler USNS John Ericsson (T-AO 194) takes on heavy waves during a replenishment-at-sea with the amphibious dock landing ship USS Comstock (LSD 45). Comstock, part of the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, is deployed to promote peace and freedom of the seas by providing security and stability in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility.
