US, China Conduct Anti-Piracy Exercise GULF OF ADEN (NNS) -- The U.S. Navy's guided-missile destroyer USS Sterett (DDG 104) and ships from the Chinese People's Liberation Army (Navy) PLA(N) commenced a bilateral counter-piracy exercise, U.S.-China Counter-Piracy Exercise 15, in the Gulf of Aden and the Horn of Africa, Dec 11. Aiming to promote partnership, strength and presence, the exercise includes combined visit, board, search, and seizure (VBSS) operations, communication exchanges, and various other aspects of naval operations. Des Rafale et des frégates FREMM pour l'Egypte avant Noël ? Une délégation de très haut niveau d'une quinzaine de militaires égyptiens de l'armée de l'air et de la marine est arrivée mercredi à Paris pour discuter gros contrats avec les industriels français, notamment Dassault Aviation et du groupe naval DCNS. Et si l'Egypte était le premier client du Rafale, coiffant ainsi le Qatar et l'Inde sur le poteau. Premier tir du Meteor pour l’Eurofighter ! îles Hébrides dans le nord de l’Ecosse, le ministère britannique de la Défense à mené en collaboration avec Airbus et le missilier MBDA le premier tir du missile Meteor depuis un avion de combat Eurofighter. Ce premier tir du Meteor depuis un Eurofighter de la RAF a permis de vérifier le pré-lancement, l'amorçage et la liaison de données entre le missile et le radar. Les essais vont continuer jusqu’en 2017 afin d’élargir complètement l'enveloppe de lancement du missile depuis l’Eurofighter «Typhoon II».
