The incident happened during a landing somewhere in the Kajaki district about 8:40 hours local time. The five crew members got away with minor injuries. A security source said the helicopter was targeted by the Taliban while flying over Kajaki and “was carrying wounded army soldiers.” The Taliban did not comment on the incident." Via Scramble
  11. Un Chinook de la RAF se mange un câble à l'entrainement heureusement sans conséquences graves. "Chinook claims wire strike An RAF Chinook of 18(B)sq (ZA683, msn MA014/M7031) was forced to make an unplanned landing on Carmarthenshire farmland near Llangynin, Wales. The Ministry of Defence says the incident happened on Tuesday evening 28 July. Twin-engined helicopter crew suffered "minor injuries". Military chiefs add the Chinook was on a training exercise at the time. A 'wire strike' is suspected to be the cause. Pam Windsor, a community councillor in Llangynin, says her electricity cut off after her family heard a "loud sort of droning noise of a helicopter very close by". She says: "We went outside and we could see the Chinook very low, just passing over the village heading towards fields in the distance." Credit: BBC News via Scramble "

    [Mirage F1] Refonte

"Royal Jordanian Air Force Mirage F1s sold to Draken International The al-Quwwat al-Jawwiya al-Malakiya al-Urduniya (RJAF, Royal Jordanian Air Force) sold 25 Dassault Mirage F1 fighter and attack aircraft out of the 26 that were stored at As Shaheed Muwaffaq al Salti AB (al-Azraq) air base. The aircraft involved are most probably eleven Mirage F1CJs, thirteen Mirage F1EJs and one Mirage F1DJ dual seat. The Mirages were stored al-Azraq since 2010. The aircraft were sold to US-based adversary air (ADAIR) supplier Draken International based at Lakeland (FL). By April 2020, about 10 were received and the first delivery was published on Draken International's social media channels on 3 April 2020. The first aircraft, RJAF serial 118, was one of two Mirage F1DJs the Jordanians had. This Mirage was formerly CE.14C-85/14-74 with theEjército del Aire (EdA, Spanish Air Force), before it was sold to Jordan in 2007. Before that, in August of 1994, Spain bought the aircraft from Qatar (serial QA62). The remainder of the Mirages will be shipped during the next few months. Draken International already bought 20 former Spanish Air Force Mirage F1M/BM aircraft."

Via Scramble: "US approved sale of additional C-130H transporters to Morocco and Tunisia The United States has approved the request of both Tunisia and Morocco to transfer four C-130H Hercules' from its surplus inventory - most probably, the aircraft are currently stored at AMARG - to their respective militaries. Both countries already use the C-130H Hercules for a longer period. The Alkowat al malakiya al jawiya (RMAF, Royal Moroccan Air Force) has sixteen C-130H Hercules in their active inventory, of which two have been modified as KC-130H tankers and one has been modified as an EC-130H. The first transporters were delivered in 1974. All aircraft are operated by the Escadre de Transport at 3 Air Base Kenitra air base. The Al Quwwat al-Jawwiya At'Tunisia (TAF, Tunisian Air Force) has a mixed fleet of C-130B, C-130H Hercules and strikingly also brand-new C-130J-30 Super Hercules'. The first aircraft, two C-130H transporters, were delivered in 1985. In 1997, five surplus C-130Bs were delivered from the USA. It is reported that five TAF Hercules' are still on the current active inventory, one C-130H, two C-130B and two C-130J-30s. Morocco made the request in late July 2019 (yes, nineteen) for two C-130Hs and alongside the aircraft, the RMAF will also receive six C-130H pylons and fuel tanks with the whole costing about USD 60,8 million. Tunisia requested for two of the same type of aircraft on 6 June 2019 (als twenty nineteen), the total acquisition costs are stated as USD 60 million. It is yet unknown when the aircraft will be delivered."
