Poland orders new Rosomak 8x8 variant

Poland has ordered 34 WRT engineering reconnaissance variants of its Rosomak (Patria AMV) 8x8 armoured fighting vehicle.

A contract for the purchase was awarded to WZM Siemianowice Slaskie by the Polish Armament Inspectorate, worth a total of PLN233.5 million (USD77 million).

The contract is divided into two parts. The first covers the development of a second Rosomak-WRT prototype which will be used for qualification trials. The second part covers the manufacturing of 33 production-standard engineering reconnaissance vehicles.

The Rosomak-WRT is equipped with an HIAB crane with 1 tonne lift capability, diagnostic and maintenance tools, pneumatic ramp, two generators (one vehicle-based and one portable), a tent, and portable light sources provides the night repair work capability.

The vehicles will be manufactured by WZM Siemianowice Slaskie and WZM Poznan, the latter being the owner of the intellectual property rights to the vehicle.

A prototype Rosomak-WRT was first presented at the MSPO 2011 defence exhibition in 2011, with a slightly re-worked version, due to altered Polish requirements, being shown at the 2012 iteration.

The Rosomak-WRT crew consist of 4-5 personnel: a driver; commander; two mechanics; and a medic as an option.

Rosomak-WRT will be the first Polish vehicle equipped with a remote weapon station (RWS). Zaklady Mechaniczne Tarnow is the supplier of its ZSMU-1276A3 'Kobuz' RWS armed with a 7.62 mm UKM-2000C machine gun. The vehicle will be also equipped with SPP-1 Obra-3 self-defence system linked with smoke grenade launchers. The second prototype will be equipped also with telescopic mast with a stabilised thermal imaging system.

The Polish Land Forces have divided typical armoured repair and recovery tasks onto three vehicles: Rosomak-WRT engineering reconnaissance vehicle equipped with 1-tonne crane; the Rosomak-WPT engineering support vehicle equipped with 4-tonne crane (capable of lifting the Rosomak power-pack); and the CKPEZT 8x8 truck-based wheeled heavy recovery vehicles equipped with an 8-tonne crane and rear fork capable of towing Rosomak armoured personnel carriers, Dana self-propelled howitzers, and trucks with a curb weight up to 26,000 kg.

The role of the Rosomak-WRT is to assure a basic-level engineering support to damaged or immobilised Rosomak 8x8 vehicles on the battlefield. More serious repair works will be made by Rosomak-WPT and recovery tasks by CKPEZT.

The Rosomak APCs are operational with the 12th and 17th Mechanised Brigades. According to the Polish Army Modernisation Plan 2013-22, the Land Forces are planning to purchase additional 307 Rosomak vehicles by 2022.

Poland seeks MG-20 Daglezja-G tracked bridge layers

The Polish Armament Inspectorate has launched a restricted tender procedure for low-rate initial production (LRIP) of two MG-20 Daglezja-G tracked assault bridge layers.

The Polish Armed Forces plans to buy around 30 MG-20 vehicles from 2017 to support its use of its new 70-tonne Leopard 2A5 main battle tanks (MBTs) and its future upraded Leopard 2PL MBTs. They will replace the currently used BLG-67MP/BLG-67M2 and Biber armoured vehicle-launched bridges.

The MG-20 Daglezja-G is a 57-tonne tracked assault bridge layer based on a PMG-20 vehicle, consisting of an extended T-72 tank chassis with seven road wheels. It is designed to lay the 23 m long PM-20 mobile bridge, capable of bridging a 20 m span.

The MG-20 can support tracked vehicles up to military load classification (MLC) 70 (63.5 tonnes) or wheeled vehicles up to MLC 100 (104.3 tonnes).

The MG-20 Daglezja-G was designed by research and development centre OBRUM Gliwice under contract to the Polish Ministry of Defence. The development of the MG-20 started in 2008 while the qualification test of the prototype ended on November 2013. The technical documentation of the MG-20 is owned by Polish Armed Forces.

The MG-20 Daglezja-G is part of Daglezja bridge layer family, developed by OBRUM Gliwice, that also includes: the MS-20 Daglezja and the MS-40 Daglezja-S wheeled bridge layers, designed to lay bridge spans over obstacles respectively 20 m and 40 m in width; and the Daglezja-P wheeled pontoon bridge designed to replace PP-64 Wstega pontoon bridge produced since 1966.

The Polish Armament Inspectorate signed a contract with MESKO on 12 November for 120 mm anti-tank rounds for its Leopard 2 main battle tanks (MBTs).

In total, Poland ordered 13,000 cartridges 120 mm armour-piercing, fin-stabilised discarding sabot with tracer (APFSDS-T) worth PLN 240 million (USD 13.17 million ????, moi j'ai 71.54 millions de dollars soit 57.35 millions de d'euros) to be delivered from 2015 to 2017.

 

This supplements a contract with MESKO signed on 28 September for 14,000 high-explosive (HE) 120 mm ammunition worth PLN 114.4 million to be delivered from 2014 to 2017.

Both the APFSDS-T and HE cartridges are to be manufactured in Poland by a MESKO subsidiary in Pionki (the former ZPS Pionki factory).

The British Embassy in Warsaw hosted a seminar “Vision of Polish Land Forces – opportunities and threats.” Part of the event was a presentation of proposal by BAE Systems, which is offering the Polish Armed Forces CV90 chassis for the future infantry fighting vehicle “Borsuk”.

The seminar called “Vision of Polish Land Forces – opportunities and threats” took place in a conference room of the British Embassy. The Swedish Embassy was a co-organizer. The Land Forces modernization programmes, especially the new infantry fighting vehicle “Borsuk”, were the main reason for organization of the event which was attended by British and Swedish ambassadors, Polish Army representatives, Polish Armaments Group and BAE Systems. Under the “Borsuk” project BAE Systems would want to sell Poland chassis of the CV90 vehicles.

The seminar started with the speeches of the British Ambassador Robin Barnett and Swedish Ambassador Staffan Herrstrom, who pointed to the new security threats, which occurred in 2014, especially in relations with the Ukrainian crisis. Both ambassadors stressed the need to develop defence co-operation with our country. The subject of bi-lateral army co-operation was further developed by Col. Claes Nilsson, Swedish Defence Attaché, in relation to the possible growth of co-operation in the area of defence between Poland and Sweden in 2015.

The main goal of the seminar was to present BAE Systems company and its vision for the development of combat vehicles, based on its experience in e.g. the CV90 programme. As the company’s representatives argue, manufactured in the number of 1000, in future the vehicle could become the basis of a new Polish infantry fighting vehicle to be developed under the “Borsuk” programme.

In line with the representatives of the manufacturer arguments, thanks to the flexibility of the project and usage of modular platform, a number of vehicles ranging from the IFV through medical evacuation vehicle up to C4ISR one, all based on the CV90. At the same time BAE Systems emphasises that it could deliver only the chassis to the Polish market, which could then be equipped for various missions by companies who are part of the Polish Armaments Group.

According to Dan Lindell, Platform Manager responsible for the CV-90 programme, experience points to the need to opt for one of the two approaches when it comes to procurement combat vehicles. Firstly, one can buy a fleet of different, highly specialized vehicles, however, in this case a very large defence budget is needed. A second option is to acquire a base platform, which could be adjusted to various missions. In order to do so, one needs to purchase a large number, and obtain a chassis which could easily be integrated with systems manufactured by other companies.

As BAE Systems representatives point out, the CV90 is an evolving platform, following the experiences collected in various contemporary military conflicts. The manufacturer is also analysing the engagement of combat vehicles in the hybrid war which is currently taking place in the Ukraine. At the seminar, Warrant Officer Jakob Wittendorf of Dutch Armed Forces shared the experience of the CV90 operation in Afghanistan. He put the stress on high mobility of the vehicles capable to do missions in wet, muddy terrain, the high resistance to fire and IEDs weighing up to 15 kg.

In the case of the Polish tender, combining the amphibiousity requirement with high survivability on the modern combat theatres for the Polish new IFV was questionable to some of the seminar participants. This assumption, which the Polish Armament Inspectorate keeps, generates the necessity to reach compromises at the cost of other capabilities of the “Borsuk” (especially that as it has been pointed at Defence24.pl that more than 90 percent of the rivers in Poland are up to 4-5 metres deep, which opens the way to crossing them on the bottom like in the case of main battle tanks).

BAE Systems’ engineers have declared that they can deliver a platform that meets the Polish Army’s requirements, including amphibiousity. What yet needs to be settled is the practicality of the swimming IFV in a situation where other combat systems such as tanks or artillery do not have such advanced capabilities in crossing water obstacles. The company’s representatives largely focused on the chassis proposal, and suggested it is in line with the vision of a universal modular tracked platform for the Polish Army. The share of the Polish industry in the “Borsuk” programme was discussed by both the speakers and the invited guests.

AMPV – The German Offer Of A Multi-Purpose Vehicle

German consortium consisting of the Rheinmetall (Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles in this case) and Krauss-Maffei Wegmann companies has developed the Armoured Multi-Purpose Vehicle (AMPV).Together with ROSOMAK S.A. company, the works have been undertaken to tailor the new vehicle to the requirements of the Pegaz programme which is being run by the Polish Ministry of Defence, and the AMPV is also offered as a new Patrol vehicle for the land forces.

AMPV is placed within the segment of the vehicles, weight of which does not exceed 10 tonnes. According to the basic assumption the new vehicle is to make it possible, for its crew of 5 to effectively operate in the conditions that are present within the area of a contemporary battlefield. According to the declarations made by the manufacturers, the main design requirement was to tailor the vehicle to the threats present during the NATO operations and other military deployments.

Main Design Assumptions

The main assumption made by the German manufacturers was to create a family of vehicles based on one chassis. These vehicles were to be characterized with good mobility and protection parameters. AMPV features a monocoque hull with a composite armour, along with a specially designed front frame, independent triple control arms and automatic differential management.

In its basic variant, the vehicle provides the crew with level 3 ballistic protection and 4a/3b mine protection (4b to be reached), in line with the STANAG 4569 norm. The manufacturers declare that the body is protected from IEDs that are equivalent to 100 kg of TNT exploding 5 m from the vehicle (150 kg equivalent of TNT to be reached). AMPV is also tailored to be fitted with an NBC protection system. Both the quantity, as well as configuration of the additional armour may be individually customized. Additionally, the vehicle may be equipped with a warning system and a system for establishing smoke screens (the ROSY system is being currently tested), or an active protection system.

The propulsion is realized with a 6 cylinder, 3.2 liter diesel engine, with a power of 272 HP at 4000 RPM. The M16 SCI engine we mean here, is being manufactured by the Steyr Motors company. The engine’s maximum torque reaches 610 Nm at 1800 RPM. The vehicle is capable of running on a variety of fuel types and it meets the requirements of the Euro III norm. The independent suspension with double wishbones is characterized with a long spring travel (up to +/- 150 mm). 385/80 R20 tyres are equipped with the run-flat system.

The vehicle, in its basic variant, is capable of carrying loads of up to 2200 kg. This payload may change, depending on the variant and purpose of the vehicle, which means that load capacity is dependent on the equipment and the combat capabilities.

Maximum speed of the vehicle on the road is 110 km/h, while its range reaches the level of 700 km. The vehicle is capable of overcoming 60% slopes with more than 40% of lateral tilt. The wading depth, without prior preparation, is equal to 850 mm, AMPV goes over 400 mm vertical obstacles and 750 mm wide ditches.

Dimensions of the vehicle (length – 5660 mm, width – 2300 mm, height – 2180 mm – without the armament) make it possible to transport it with the use of medium sized (C-160, C-130, A400M), heavy transport aircraft, as well as hanged under the heavy cargo helicopters, such as CH-47 or CH-53.

Armament may consist of two independently controlled modules or turrets controlled by the operator, all of which may be fitted with 7.62 or 12.7 mm machine guns or with a 40 mm automatic grenade launcher. Side-mounted armament can also be fitted on the vehicle, alternatively, a turret with an automatic cannon is also an option here.

Additional hatches, cameras and protection systems, as well as optronic systems, may be fitted in accordance with the customer’s specification.

The vehicle manufacturer is currently tailoring the product, together with the ROSOMAK S.A. company, to the Polish requirements. This includes changes in the interior required to fit in the equipment and armament needed by the Polish Army, and to provide proper equipment-carrying and logistics support capabilities.

The Polish Armaments Group (PGZ) unveiled several new developments and variants of the Rosomak 8x8 family at the MSPO defence exhibition held in Kielce from 1-4 September.

These included the modernised Rosomak-M, the uprated Rosomak-XP, a Rosomak direct support vehicle armed with a 120 mm cannon, the first production-model Rosomak-WPT engineering support vehicle, and a new unmanned ZSSW-30 turret prototype.

The Rosomak-M is a modernised infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) with an upgraded Hitfist-30P turret that is capable of carrying a 200-300 kg onboard Rosomak Battlefield Management System (BMS). The air conditioning system is also improved and new anti-blast seats are installed.

The Polish Armaments Group (PGZ) unveiled several new developments and variants of the Rosomak 8x8 family at the MSPO defence exhibition held in Kielce from 1-4 September.

These included the modernised Rosomak-M, the uprated Rosomak-XP, a Rosomak direct support vehicle armed with a 120 mm cannon, the first production-model Rosomak-WPT engineering support vehicle, and a new unmanned ZSSW-30 turret prototype.

The Rosomak-M is a modernised infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) with an upgraded Hitfist-30P turret that is capable of carrying a 200-300 kg onboard Rosomak Battlefield Management System (BMS). The air conditioning system is also improved and new anti-blast seats are installed.

The idea behind the Rosomak-M is to modernise the vehicle while retaining its amphibious capability despite the extra weight. This was achieved by using new German IBD nanometric steel armour and by expanding the Rosomak's width to enlarge the vehicle's displacement - overall this expanded the maximum swimming weight by 1,600 kg. To retain the same swimming speed, the extra tool box between the third and fourth wheel was removed and the propeller was redesigned.

The upgraded Hitfist-30P turret is equipped with two Spike-LR anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) launchers, while the ammunition storage system has been redesigned to store an extra 30 mm rounds for Mk 44 Mod 2 Bushmaster II cannon.

The second new Rosomak unveiled at MSPO was the Rosomak XP (Patria AMV XP) with a new suspension system to expand the maximum mass of the vehicle to 30 tonnes. Rosomak said that the XP also has a stretch potential to 32 tonnes with additional modifications (such as a new brake system). The Rosomak XP uses the extra weight to improve its protection to STANAG4569 Level 4 ballistic protection and Level 4a/b mine and IED protection. A more powerful 604-hp Scania DC 13 engine is also used. The new suspension system can be used in any Rosomak IFV or APC manufactured.

Rosomak also unveiled at MSPO the Rosomak direct support vehicle (DSV) concept fitted with a Cockerill Mechanical Industries (CMI) XC-8 120HP turret armed with a 120 mm L/47 gun. IHS Jane's understands that CMI is also working on a new turret and a new 120 mm gun, which it will also offer for the future Polish Gepard tracked DSV programme.

PGZ also showed the first production model of Rosomak-WRT engineering reconnaissance vehicle at MSPO. Poland currently has 34 Rosomak-WRTs on order at a cost of PLN233.5 million (USD61.8 million). When it enters service the Rosomak-WRT will be the first Polish vehicle to be equipped with the remote-controlled weapon station - the ZSMU-1276A3 Kobuz, armed with a 7.62 mm UKM-2000C machine gun supplied by Zaklady Mechaniczne Tarnow (ZMT). Poland has also ordered 18 Rosomak-WPT engineering support vehicles.

Meanwhile, Huta Stalowa Wola (HSW) unveiled at MSPO its second prototype of the new Polish unmanned ZSSW-30 turret designed for Rosomak M2 IFV and future Polish tracked IFVs developed under Borsuk programme. This new prototype features the Polish PCO GOC-1 Nike electro-optic infrared (EO/IR) sights, rather than the Selex ES system used on the first prototype.

The ZSSW-30 is designed to fit within the same turret ring and fittings as the manned Hitfist-30P, so needs no modification to a Rosomak to install. Integration work with Rosomak and first qualification firings with the cannon have been conducted, company representatives told IHS Jane's , while the first Spike-LR ATGM test fire is scheduled on November. A low-rate initial production batch of five ZSSW-30 turrets is to be qualified in 2016, while the serial production is planned to start in 2017.

WZM Poznan also exhibited the prototype of a new powerpack for a next-generation armoured personnel carrier. The main element of it is a 715-hp MTU EURO3 engine coupled with 6-speed Allison transmission. The 1690-kg powerpack is 2.2 m long and 1.07 m wide.

Avancée des évaluation du programme d'automoteur Krab.

Rappelons que le Krab emploie la tourelle de l'AS90 au standard Bravehart. Le châssis polonais ne donnait pas satisfaction. Il a été remplacé par celui du K9 sud-coréen.

On Friday, 23rd October, within the area of the Military Institute of Armament Technology Dynamic Test Centre firing range in Stalowa Wola, tests of the first example of the “Krab” self-propelled howitzer, on the new, Korean carrier, have been completed. 

The K9 “Thunder” chassis for the 155 mm self-propelled howitzer, developed by the Polish and Korean designers, is the carrier mentioned above. The new chassis - in line with the specification developed by the STALOWA WOLA S.A. steel-works, who acts as an industrial partner and party of the agreement signed by the Hanwha Techwin company - features a variety of structural changes. This phase of works, related to the “Regina” programme, and the struggle to save the initiative, was described by us directly after the turret was integrated on the newly developed carrier.

The final test programme, scheduled before the vehicle is going to be handed-off, has been concluded with a series of live-fire tests. During the programme, the howitzer fired five shots, including shots with the use of maximum (sixth) powder charge. The test-firing was conducted with the use of ZM DEZAMET and Rheinmetall ammunition. The test firing with the maximum quantity of charge is very significant, when it comes to verification of the strength assumptions related to the turret – chassis interface. Due to the limited area of the firing range, making it impossible to carry out test firing at the longest range, some tests were executed by firing the howitzer directly aimed at a bullet trap. The remaining tests were executed at angles, but with the use of weaker charges, in order to make it possible to place the shots within the test range area.

New chassis was tested with all of the possible turret positions, with regards to the longitudinal axis of the chassis, also in positions 90 degrees left and 90 degrees right from the axis, and also with the turret pointing backwards. At each of the positions, results “above satisfactory” have been achieved. The howitzer seemed to be very stable, throughout the whole testing procedure. The laboratory analysis of the testing results, including the load distribution data and amplitudes, fully confirms the assumed stability of the hydro-pneumatic suspension of the carrier, which plays an important role in dampening the vibrations of the whole system, after the shot. This has an important impact on the rate of fire, as it is not limited by the chassis. The howitzer is capable to fire three shots throughout 10 seconds.

Directly after the test programme has been completed, a representative of the Armament Inspectorate passed an approved certification test programme document to the President of the HSW company. The said programme is going to be carried out in case of the example that has passed the tests described above. According to the Agreement with the STALOWA WOLA works, the company is obliged to complete the tests until April 2016. The management board of the HSW company declares that the test programme is going to be significantly shortened, however, this is going to be largely dependent on the weather conditions in the upcoming weeks.

Second example of the Krab howitzer, on the new carrier, has been assembled at the HSW SA company already, however, it is not going to be used in the test programme which is already being officially realized. Soon, acceptance tests, regarding the second example of the howitzer, are going to be executed.

Thales Polska company announced its plans related to cooperation with the Rosomak S.A. company, or with the Military Automotive Works based in Poznan, within the scope of the offer related to the Hawkei armoured vehicle addressed at the Polish Army. The vehicle is one of the five vehicles qualified, within the technical dialogue, to take part in the further stages of the the “Pegaz” procurement programme. The order for the initial batch of the Pegaz vehicles is expected to be placed in the third quarter of 2016. 

During the meeting, which took place at the Australian Embassy in Warsaw, representatives of the Thales company discussed the impact that selection of the Hawkei multipurpose vehicle by the Australian Department of Defence had on the “Pegaz” programme in Poland. These topics have a variety of common ground in between them, when it comes both to the manufacturing process, as well as to the potential competitors. Tomasz Zakrzewski, Thales Polska Director Defence Aerospace & Security, stressed that the decision made by the Australian Department of Defence reinforces the starting position for the Thales’s offer, since the Hawkei vehicle turned out to beat, during the outback tests, the remaining main competing vehicles, involved in the Polish “Pegaz” programme.

Within the context of the Polish “Pegaz” programme, Thales plans to carry out a vast technology transfer. The French company is also willing to cooperate with several Polish businesses, within the scope of participation in the supply chain, cooperation or co-production of the Hawkei vehicle. Five companies have been selected for potential collaboration, at the beginning of 2015. Rosomak S.A. is the main player within that pool, along with the Poznan-based Military Automotive Works and the ZM Tarnów company. The main aim of the negotiations and the planned cooperation is to prepare a joint offer within the framework of the “Pegaz” programme. Secondly, the Polish companies may be included in the supply chain for other potential European customers. Thales company is currently engaged in negotiations involving 3-4 countries, all of which are interested in acquiring the above-described Hawkei vehicles. Thus, should the manufacturing and assembly processes be carried out in Poland, it is also going to be possible to realize orders for the potential foreign buyers.

This is then, the main reason for intensive promotional activities related to the Hawkei vehicles, which could have been witnessed during this year’s edition of the MSPO Kielce event. It is also a cause for organization of the demonstration even at the Sulejowek training range. The latter event was visited both by the media, as well as by the potential end-users. Last year, Thales Australia company presented the Hawkei vehicle to the representatives of the Polish Military Gendarmerie. Not only did the soldiers get a chance to get acquainted with the capabilities of the vehicle, they also could check the load capacity and ergonomics of Hawkei. This included an offroad capabilities test, with fully armed and equipped soldiers of the Military Gendarmerie special unit sitting inside of the vehicle. This year, the audience of the presentation consisted, above all, of the Special Forces operators who, along with the Gendarmerie, are going to become the first users of the “Pegaz” vehicle.

The Polish Army is planning, within the scope of the first phase of the “Pegaz” programme, to acquire 105 vehicles. Until 2022 acquisition of ca. 280 vehicles is being planned. The Gendarmerie is going to be the first unit that is going to utilize the newly purchased cars. The programme is going to be realized, most probably, within a procedure related to significant national security interests, meaning that the tender procedure is not going to be applied in case of this procurement. Contract related to delivery of the initial batch of the vehicles is planned to be signed in the third quarter of the next year, while the deliveries are expected to be realized in 2017. Besides the Thales Hawkei vehicles, the following options are also being considered: General Dynamics Eagle V 4x4, KMW/Rheinmetall AMPV and Kerametal Aligator 4x4.

Hawkei belongs to a class of four wheeled Light Protected Vehicles. The vehicle has been developed as a successor for the Land Rover cars used by the Autstralian armed forces, however it is also being offered for other potential buyers. The vehicle weight is 7 tonnes in the basic configuration, providing a STANAG 1-compliant protection level. However, it is also possible to attain higher level of protection, thanks to a modular armor system, which may be installed on the vehicle or removed within less than 30 minutes. Vehicle’s maximum weight is 10 tonnes. Hawkei is capable of achieving top speed above 100 kilometers per hour. Its range is 600 kilometers.

Polish-German consortium to upgrade 128 Leopard 2A4s MBTs

The German Rheinmetall company outlined today its role in the overhaul and upgrade of 128 Leopard 2 main Battle Tanks for the Polish military. The project represents roughly €220 million in sales volume for Rheinmetall. The consortium includes the German company that teamed with local prime contractor PGZ and system integrator ZM Bumar-Łabędy S.A., both were awarded the Leopard 2A4 modernization contracts on 28 December 2015, offering an upgrade program developed in partnership with Rheinmetall.

The 128 Leopard 2 A4 MBTs were purchased in 2002 by the Polish Army from surplus Bundeswehr stocks. They will be upgraded to Leopard 2 PL standard, which corresponds to the German Leopard 2 A5 and A6. Rheinmetall has been awarded similar modernization contracts for Leopard 2 tanks from Canada and Indonesia. with over 3,600 Leopard II tanks built, serving the armed forces of 17 countries,

The consortium will deliver a prototype for Polish Armed Forces evaluation by the end of 2017. Once approved for series production, Rheinmetall will revamp a further five tanks starting in 2018. The next 12 tanks will undergo modernization at Bumar-Łabędy, under Rheinmetall supervision. Follow-on upgrades will be done by the Polish contractors, retrofitting and shipping the remaining 110 tanks. The entire work is expected to conclude by the year 2020. An option for the upgrade of 14 additional tanks is also included, to be signed upon the conclusion of the program in 2021.

Les derniers éléments du système  d'artillerie RAK terminent les tests de qualification. Ces sont véhicule de reconnaissance et véhicule de transport de munitions. Le mortier 120mm est déjà apres d'essais. Le contrat d'achat sera signé au deuxième trimestre de l'année. Début des livraisons est prévu en 2017. Il n'y a pas encore de munitions précises pour mortier 120mm. Munitions sera développé dans un autre programme (aussi pour 155mm) par l’entreprise Mesko avec la participation de l'industrie ukrainienne (quelque chose comme missile Kwitnyk).

On en parle plusieurs fois sur le forum, mais alors que n'avons mit un canon de 155 sur un camion, et que nous avions un AML-60 avec un petit mortier/canon de 60 mm, je n'ai comprit que parmit les variantes du VAB, nous n'avions pas de véhicules porte-mortier de 120 mm;

Si la Pologne confirme son achat d'hélicoptères Caracal, on peut prendre en échange cette tourelle de mortier qui me semble entièrement automatique à monter sur un VBCI :)

Sauf qu'on envisage tres sérieusement d'acquerir un produit concurrent de chez TDA le mortier semi auto "en cuve" ...
